Galliana is a taxi boat hand made in 1970 in Pellinge, Porvoo. Galliana has now returned to its original role after twenty years and takes people out to the beautiful Porvoo archipelago.
Galliana takes people out to enjoy the beautiful Porvoo archipelago and the River Porvoo. In addition to people, Galliana transports bikes, paddleboards and kayaks. Galliana's home port is Hamari, 4 km from the center of Porvoo.

The spirit of the wooden boat
Wooden boats have their own spirit that can be experienced by all the senses: the smell, the creaking, the warmth of the wood under your hand, the sound of the waves against the side planks.
Fiskar-boats were developed as fishing boats at a time when fishing was a viable livelihood for many inhabitants of the archipelago and a hand-carved boat was the only possible tool. Summers were spent fishing, winters were spent building boats. Fiskar-boats fro Pellinki are still known nationwide as particularly fast and streamlined.
Ordered as a taxi boat, Galliana was sculpted by Julius Liljeberg in Pellinki in 1970. The boat transported people to the archipelago, first in Kabböle and later in Pirttisaari. The original name of the boat is unknown. From 2001 to 2023, the boat was privately owned.
Galliana is made from slowly grown dense pine and mahogany. Modern nonsense has not disturbed the middle aged lady: there is a patina on the surface and the -68 model year Ford engine still pushes dependably forward. Traveling on Galliana is the same now as it was in the 70's.
